About the Role
SSE Industries is looking for a Shop Floor Supervisor to supervise and manage day-to-day manufacturing activities related to fire-fighting equipment and systems. The candidate will be responsible for manpower handling, production coordination, quality monitoring, material utilization, safety, and timely completion of production targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily manufacturing activities on the shop floor.
- Allocate work to workers/operators as per production requirements.
- Monitor production of fire-fighting equipment and related fabricated products.
- Ensure daily production targets are achieved within the planned timeline.
- Manage and monitor manpower, worker productivity, attendance, and discipline.
- Coordinate with the Production, Store, Purchase, Quality, and Maintenance teams.
- Ensure proper availability and utilization of raw materials, tools, and equipment.
- Monitor fabrication, assembly, cutting, welding, grinding, painting/coating, and other manufacturing activities as applicable.
- Ensure products are manufactured as per approved drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
- Identify and report production defects, rework, rejection, material shortages, and machine issues.
- Coordinate with the Quality team to maintain required product quality standards.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and movement of raw materials and finished goods.
- Monitor machine and equipment utilization and coordinate with the Maintenance team for breakdowns.
- Ensure workers follow proper safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and 5S practices on the shop floor.
- Prepare and maintain daily production reports and other manufacturing records.
- Monitor production wastage and support management in reducing material loss.
- Train and guide workers regarding proper work procedures and safety practices.
- Ensure timely completion and dispatch of finished products as per production schedules.
- Report daily production status, manpower requirements, pending work, and operational issues to management.
- Perform other production-related duties assigned by the management.
Candidate Requirements
- Qualification: ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Production, Fabrication, or a related technical field preferred.
- Experience: 4-5 years of experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or engineering industry.
- Experience in fire-fighting equipment manufacturing will be an added advantage.
- Candidates having experience in sheet metal fabrication, welding, assembly, painting/coating, or industrial manufacturing will be preferred.
- Should have good knowledge of shop-floor operations and manpower handling.
- Ability to manage workers and maintain discipline.
- Basic knowledge of production planning and daily production reporting.
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel is preferred.
- Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Should be comfortable working in a manufacturing/shop-floor environment.
