Job Summary
The Primary Main Teacher is responsible for providing high-quality teaching and learning experiences to primary students. The teacher manages the classroom, delivers the primary curriculum, monitors student progress, and supports students' academic, social, and emotional development.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons across primary subjects.
- Teach core subjects such as English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and other assigned subjects.
- Create a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Develop students' literacy, numeracy, communication, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Use a variety of teaching strategies, activities, and educational resources to meet different learning needs.
- Assess and monitor student progress through classwork, homework, tests, projects, and observations.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessment results, and student performance.
- Provide additional support and differentiated instruction to students who need it.
- Manage classroom behavior and promote positive discipline.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress and concerns.
- Participate in parent meetings, school events, assemblies, trips, and extracurricular activities.
- Collaborate with subject teachers, coordinators, and other staff members.
- Prepare student reports and contribute to academic planning.
- Use technology effectively to enhance classroom learning.
- Follow school policies, procedures, safeguarding requirements, and health and safety guidelines.
- Participate in professional-development programs and contribute to continuous improvement of teaching practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a relevant subject.
- Valid primary teaching qualification/certification.
- Previous experience teaching primary-level students preferred.
- Good knowledge of primary curriculum and assessment methods.
- Strong classroom-management and communication skills.
