Position: Western Dance Teacher
Job Summary
The Western Dance Teacher is responsible for planning and conducting engaging dance classes, developing students' dance skills, fostering creativity and confidence, and preparing students for school events, competitions, and performances. The teacher should maintain discipline while creating a positive and encouraging learning environment.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate Western dance lessons for students across assigned grades.
- Teach various Western dance styles such as Hip-Hop, Jazz, Contemporary, Freestyle, Salsa, and other styles as assigned.
- Develop students' rhythm, coordination, flexibility, posture, and stage confidence.
- Prepare lesson plans and maintain progress records for each class.
- Choreograph performances for Annual Day, Sports Day, Cultural Programs, Graduation Ceremony, and other school events.
- Train students for inter-school, district, state, and national dance competitions.
- Identify talented students and provide additional coaching when required.
- Maintain discipline and ensure student safety during dance classes and rehearsals.
- Encourage teamwork, creativity, confidence, and self-expression among students.
- Coordinate with class teachers and event coordinators for performances and practice schedules.
- Take responsibility for dance costumes, props, accessories, and music tracks used during performances.
- Maintain the dance room, audio systems, and other dance equipment in good condition.
- Submit lesson plans, attendance records, and student performance reports as required.
- Attend staff meetings, training programs, workshops, and professional development sessions organized by the school.
- Support school admission events, orientation programs, exhibitions, and promotional activities whenever required.
- Communicate professionally with parents regarding students' progress whenever required.
- Follow all school policies, child protection guidelines, and safety protocols.
- Maintain punctuality, professionalism, and appropriate grooming standards.
- If required, be flexible to work additional hours during school events, rehearsals, competitions, or special programs.
- Holidays and leave will be applicable as per the school's HR policy and the Admin Department schedule.
- Arrange own transportation if school transport is not available during student holidays or special working days.
- Maintain confidentiality of school information and uphold the reputation and values of the institution at all times.
