. Food Preparation
- Peeling, and chopping vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients.
- Measuring and weighing ingredients according to recipes.
- Preparing basic sauces, stocks, and soups following standardized formulas.
- Portioning proteins and assembling mise en place for service.
2. Station Support
- Assisting designated station Chefs (e.g., saucier, poissonier, grillardin) by handing prepped ingredients during service.
- Restocking the station with ingredients, garnishes, and supplies to maintain continuous workflow.
- Clearing and cleaning the workstation promptly between dishes to uphold hygiene standards.
3. Basic Cooking Duties
- Operating simple kitchen equipment: blenders, mixers, kettles, and ovens under guidance.
- Cooking basic menu items (e.g., vegetables, eggs, simple garnishes) to specification.
- Plating dishes with attention to portion size and presentation consistency.
4. Kitchen Hygiene and Safety
- Adhering to strict food safety protocols (temperature control, cross-contamination avoidance).
- Maintaining personal cleanliness and wearing proper uniform (chef’s coat, hat, non-slip shoes).
- Cleaning kitchen surfaces, utensils, and equipment after each shift or prep task.
- Disposing of waste correctly and participating in end-of-day cleaning checklists.
5. Inventory and Stock Management
- Assisting in receiving and checking deliveries against order sheets.
- Labeling and dating food items before storing in refrigerators or dry stores.
- Performing stock rotations (FIFO) to minimize spoilage and maintain freshness.
