Job Title: Consultant / Senior Consultant – Nephrology

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nephrologist to join our team at Sarvodaya Hospital. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive care for patients with kidney-related disorders. This includes managing OPD and IPD patients, supervising dialysis services, providing critical care consultations, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care:
- Diagnose and treat a wide spectrum of kidney diseases, including Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), Acute Kidney Injury (AKI), glomerulonephritis, nephrotic syndrome, kidney stones, hypertension, and electrolyte imbalances .
- Supervise and manage hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis services, including prescribing dialysis protocols, reviewing adequacy (Kt/V), and managing complications .
- Provide nephrology consultations for patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), managing CRRT/SLED and electrolyte emergencies .
- Conduct pre-transplant evaluations and provide post-transplant follow-up care, managing immunosuppression in coordination with the transplant team .
- Perform or assist with renal procedures such as kidney biopsies and catheter insertions (temporary/permanent) as per hospital policy .
Patient & Family Counseling:
- Counsel patients and their families regarding kidney disease management, dialysis options, and transplant procedures, ensuring informed decision-making .
- Documentation & Quality Assurance:
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medico-legal case sheets, dialysis records, and transplant registry data .
- Ensure compliance with hospital protocols and contribute to quality improvement initiatives .
Collaboration & Leadership:
- Actively collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including urologists, intensivists, cardiologists, endocrinologists, and dietitians, to ensure holistic patient care .
- For Senior Consultant roles: Guide, train, and supervise junior doctors, residents, and nursing staff .
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Qualifications:
- Essential: MBBS + DM (Nephrology) or DNB (Nephrology) from an MCI/NMC recognized institution .
Experience: 5+ Years
Senior Consultant Role: 5 + years of experience post-DM/DNB .
Key Skills:
Strong clinical acumen and diagnostic ability in renal medicine .
- Proficiency in managing dialysis services and renal replacement therapies.
- Excellent communication, patient counseling, and interpersonal skills .
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with other specialists .
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: The budget for this position is up to ₹8 Lakhs Per Month (LPM), with the potential for an increase based on experience and qualifications.
