Job Description Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Performance Test Engineer to join our Quality Engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing performance testing strategies that ensure our applications meet scalability, reliability, and responsiveness requirements. This role will collaborate closely with software engineers, architects, DevOps teams, and product stakeholders to identify performance bottlenecks and drive continuous improvements across the software development lifecycle.
The ideal candidate has strong expertise in performance engineering, automation, cloud-native technologies, and CI/CD practices, with a passion for delivering high-quality software solutions.
Performance Testing & Engineering
Design and implement comprehensive performance testing strategies for web, mobile, API, and distributed applications.
Develop, execute, and maintain performance test scripts using tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, Gatling, k6, or NeoLoad.
Conduct load, stress, endurance, scalability, spike, and volume testing.
Define performance benchmarks, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
Analyze performance metrics and identify bottlenecks across application, database, infrastructure, and network layers.
Performance Analysis & Optimization
Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve performance issues.
Perform root cause analysis using monitoring, profiling, and observability tools.
Recommend application, database, and infrastructure optimizations.
Prepare detailed performance reports and communicate findings to technical and business stakeholders.
Integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines.
Develop automated performance testing frameworks and reusable components.
Establish performance quality gates for release readiness.
Support shift-left testing initiatives by incorporating performance validation early in the development lifecycle.
Cloud & Modern Architecture Testing
Evaluate performance of cloud-native applications, microservices, APIs, and containerized platforms.
Validate system scalability and resilience under varying workloads.
Support reliability and fault-tolerance testing initiatives.
Leadership & Collaboration
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.
Participate in architecture reviews and provide performance engineering guidance.
Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, DevOps, Security, and Infrastructure teams.
Drive adoption of performance testing best practices and standards.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
7+ years of software testing experience with at least 4+ years focused on performance testing and engineering.
Strong hands-on experience with: Apache JMeter / LoadRunner / Gatling / k6 / NeoLoad
Experience testing web applications, APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
Strong understanding of Performance testing methodologies, Scalability and capacity planning, Workload modeling, Reliability engineering
Experience with relational and NoSQL databases and performance tuning concepts.
Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Experience within healthcare technology environments.
Knowledge of HL7 and FHIR interoperability standards.

Experience with AI-assisted testing and performance analytics solutions.
Understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
