The Technical Lead Accounting Services is the technical heartbeat of Quantaco’s Client Lead (CL) population. Reporting to the Head of Accounting Services, this role is the single point of ownership for the standard of delivery, training, automation, and quality at Client Lead level. This role will drive movement toward standardised, productised delivery to drive customer satisfaction.
Role Outline
The Technical Lead Accounting Services is the single point of ownership for the creation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the standard of delivery at Client Lead level. This role exists to bring rigour, consistency, and dedicated capability to the CL cohort. This role is responsible for ensuring the production of management accounts and financial reports are delivered to the agreed standard of quality and timeliness — meeting, maintaining, and continuously raising the benchmark for what “standard” means for CL outcomes.
The role involves:
-
Defining, owning, and continuously improving the standard and quality of delivery at Client Lead level
-
Delivering onboarding training for all incoming Client Leads and signing off their readiness for BAU, and delivering ongoing training for continuous improvement
-
Acting as the technical Subject Matter Expert for the CL cohort across accounting treatments, systems, automations, and processes.
-
Managing the Accounting Services Functional Leads (Receivables, Payables, Payroll BAU, Payroll Compliance) and driving alignment across the team
-
Driving automation and standardisation initiatives to enable the CL cohort to meet scale targets
Key Responsibilities
-
Standardisation & Quality Ownership
-
Create and maintain, SOPs for the Client Leadrole, ensuring a single consistent standard is applied across all CLs
- Own the definition of what “good” looks like at CL review level — documenting it, educating on it, and holding the standard through quality checks and feedback loops
-
Partner with the quality function to conduct internal quality reviews of CL-level work, identify skill gaps, and engage Senior Client Leads where targeted coaching is needed
-
Investigate escalations and material errors at CL level; identify root causes and update SOPs or automation design to prevent recurrence
-
Own the month-end process at CL level
-
Training
- Design and deliver structured onboarding training for all new Client Leads, ensuring every CL enters BAU with a consistent foundation and is formally signed off for BAU
-
Develop and maintain CL-level training materials, including refresher programmes and skills uplift sessions aligned to process changes or performance trends
-
Work with the Training Manager to align CL training objectives with broader GCC capability frameworks and ensure training delivery is tracked and documented
- Automation & Process Improvement
-
Act as the CL cohort’s representative in all automation and platform initiatives — owning the impact assessment, UAT, and rollout communications for any system change that affects Client Leads
-
Work with the GCC automation team to execute the automation program as it relates to the CL cohort
- Serve as the CL community’s informed voice in product and technology standup meetings, ensuring that changes at FA or platform level are pressure-tested for CL impact before rollout
-
Functional Lead Management
-
Directly manage the Accounting Services Functional Leads (AR, AP, Payroll BAU, Payroll Compliance), providing them with direction, prioritisation, and a coherent operating rhythm
- Ensure Functional Leads are delivering against their respective function’s training, quality, and automation responsibilities — and that their work connects to the broader CL standard
-
Keep the CL community informed of changes and updates relevant to their work, whether driven by Functional Lead activity, platform changes, or process redesign
-
Escalation & Issue Resolution
-
Act as the primary escalation point for complex client accounting issues that cannot be resolved at CL or FL level — applying technical expertise to triage, investigate, and resolve
-
Identify root causes of recurring escalations; update SOPs, training materials, or automation design to prevent recurrence and close the loop systematically
-
Maintain a structured escalation log, tracking issues, outcomes, and any process changes made as a result — providing visibility to the Head of Accounting Services
-
Liaise with Senior Client Leads and squad managers where an escalation has a client impact, ensuring timely and professional communication is maintained throughout
Personal Attributes
Our values drive our everyday behaviours and guide our decision-making, therefore having alignment with them is critical:
Customer obsessed; the Client Leads you train, develop, and set the standard for are your primary customer. Their success — in delivering quality work, meeting deadlines, and growing their capability — is the direct output of this role.
Collaborative; this role sits at the intersection of training, quality, automation, and the Functional Lead team. You will need to work closely with the Head of Accounting Services, the GCC Operations quality and training functions, automation team, and Senior Client Leads within squads. Success is a team sport.
Curious; having a natural drive to find a better way is essential to this role. Whether it’s a process that could be tightened, an automation that could remove a manual step, or a training gap that’s showing up as a quality issue — the Technical Lead Accounting Services needs to be constantly asking why, and then doing something about it.
Creative; we have defined SOPs and standards for how Client Leads operate. The Technical Lead Accounting Services will define and maintain the SOPs and standards for how Client Leads operate. We are actively open to new and better ways to train, assess, automate, and improve. If you can see a smarter path to a better outcome, we want to hear it and we want to try it.
