Job Summary:
The Estimation Engineer – PEB Erection & Fabrication is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and tender submissions for Pre-Engineered Building (PEB) erection and structural steel fabrication projects. The role involves analyzing project specifications, drawings, quantities, labor requirements, material costs, and execution methods to support competitive and profitable project bids.
Key Responsibilities
- Review tender documents, structural drawings, specifications, and BOQs for PEB projects.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for PEB erection, structural steel fabrication, roofing, cladding, and associated works.
- Perform quantity take-offs from engineering drawings and project documents.
- Estimate material, labor, equipment, transportation, and subcontractor costs.
- Obtain and evaluate quotations from vendors and subcontractors.
- Prepare techno-commercial proposals, cost sheets, and tender submissions.
- Coordinate with the design, procurement, project execution, and commercial teams during the bidding process.
- Identify project risks, exclusions, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain updated databases of material prices, labor rates, and productivity norms.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, client discussions, and tender clarifications when required.
- Support project handover by providing detailed estimation and cost breakdowns to the execution team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil, Mechanical, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 2–6 years of experience in estimation for PEB erection, structural steel fabrication, or industrial construction projects.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of PEB systems, structural steel fabrication, erection methodologies, roofing, and cladding works.
- Proficiency in quantity take-offs and cost estimation.
- Ability to interpret structural, fabrication, and GA drawings.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with estimation software, ERP systems, or project management tools is an added advantage.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Good understanding of construction methods, productivity rates, and project costing.
Preferred Experience
- Experience in preparing estimates for industrial buildings, warehouses, factories, logistics parks, and commercial PEB projects.
- Knowledge of tendering procedures, vendor evaluation, contract terms, and commercial documentation.
- Familiarity with applicable quality standards, construction practices, and safety regulations.
