Job Title: Sewing Machine Mechanic

Location: Garment Manufacturing Unit
Job Purpose
To ensure smooth operation of all sewing machines and related equipment by carrying out preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and timely repairs to minimize production downtime.
Key Responsibilities
Install, service, and maintain industrial sewing machines.
Diagnose and repair machine breakdowns promptly.
Perform preventive maintenance as per the maintenance schedule.
Adjust machine settings to ensure proper stitch quality and efficiency.
Replace defective machine parts such as needles, loopers, feed dogs, belts, motors, and bearings.
Attend machine breakdown calls from the production floor immediately.
Maintain machine maintenance records and service history.
Ensure machines comply with safety and operational standards.
Coordinate with production supervisors to reduce machine downtime.
Maintain housekeeping in the workshop and work area.
Ensure availability of essential spare parts and report shortages.
Support line setup, machine shifting, and new machine installation when required.
Qualification
ITI/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Fitter, or equivalent.
Certification in sewing machine repair is preferred.
Experience
2–5 years of experience as a Sewing Machine Mechanic in a garment manufacturing factory.
Skills Required
Strong knowledge of industrial sewing machines (Single Needle, Overlock, Flatlock, Feed-off-the-Arm, Button Attach, Button Hole, Bartack, etc.).
Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices.
Ability to work under pressure and meet production requirements.
Basic understanding of electrical and pneumatic systems is an advantage.
