The Duty Officer plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of the cinema. This position involves supervising staff, ensuring customer satisfaction, handling emergencies, and maintaining the overall security and safety of the premises to ensure all cinema functions are executed smoothly during the shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Oversight: Supervise daily cinema operations, including ticketing, concessions, and ushering, while ensuring all areas are clean, organized, and properly maintained.
- Staff Supervision: Lead, motivate, and manage the performance of front-line staff, conduct shift briefings, and assist in employee training and development.
- Customer Service: Resolve customer complaints professionally, handle VIP guests with discretion, and ensure high standards of customer service are maintained.
- Security and Safety: Monitor the premises to ensure patron and staff safety, enforce cinema policies, and respond to emergencies and evacuations.
- Financial Management: Oversee cash handling procedures, monitor sales performance and stock levels, and assist with banking and financial record-keeping.
- Facility Management: Conduct regular health and safety inspections, report maintenance issues, and ensure all equipment functions correctly.
- Event Coordination: Assist in organizing special events and promotions, and manage crowd control and seating during busy periods.
- Administrative Duties: Prepare operational reports, maintain accurate records of incidents and staff performance, and handle shift scheduling for front-line staff.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Graduate (as noted in the eligibility criteria), though a high school diploma or equivalent is required. A degree in hospitality, business management, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Previous supervisory experience in a cinema, retail, hospitality, or customer service environment.
