Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Production Head to lead end-to-end plant operations for our office chair manufacturing division. The ideal candidate will oversee assembly lines, metal/plastic fabrication, foam molding, and upholstery operations. You will be responsible for driving production efficiency, maintaining strict ergonomic and safety quality standards, optimizing costs, and managing plant personnel.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operations & Assembly Management
- Lead daily manufacturing operations across all chair production lines (mechanisms, gas lifts, mesh/fabric upholstery, plastic injection parts, and final assembly).
- Plan and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to align with sales forecasts and target lead times.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Continuous Improvement (Kaizen) initiatives to eliminate line bottlenecks and boost throughput.
2. Quality Control & Testing Compliance
- Ensure all manufactured chairs comply with international ergonomics and durability standards (e.g., ANSI/BIFMA, EN 1335, ISO 9001).
- Implement rigorous incoming, in-process, and final quality assurance (QA/QC) checks to minimize defect rates, returns, and warranty claims.
3. Cost Control & Supply Chain Integration
- Manage production budgets, scrap rates, labor costs, and overall operational expenditure (OPEX).
- Collaborate closely with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure timely delivery of raw components (castors, bases, gas springs, mechanisms, foam, and fabric).
- Minimize raw material waste during fabric cutting and foam mold processing.
4. Maintenance & Safety Management
- Oversee preventative and corrective maintenance programs for assembly line machinery, molding machines, and automated cutting tools.
- Enforce strict Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) guidelines across the factory floor.
5. Team Leadership & Workforce Management
- Direct, mentor, and evaluate plant supervisors, floor managers, line workers, and maintenance personnel.
- Conduct skill development programs and line-balancing training to maximize worker efficiency.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial/Production Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience: 8–10+ years in furniture or light engineering assembly environments, with at least 5 years in a managerial role specifically in office chair manufacturing.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, root-cause problem solving, capacity planning, and labor negotiation skills.
Pay: ₹9,375.74 - ₹50,000.00 per month
