Designation: Aerostat Mechanical Engineer
Reports to: Sr. Engineer -Ground Operations/Engineering Manager

Position Summary
Responsible for operating the tethered aerostat's mooring station and winch system, and for hands-on maintenance of its mechanical and electrical equipment to keep launch, retrieval, and ground-securing operations safe and reliable.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate the mooring station and winch console for aerostat launch, retrieval, and tie-down
- Monitor tether tension and payout/reel-in during ascent and descent
- Inspect, service, and repair mechanical components — winch drum, gearbox, brakes, cable/tether, rigging
- Inspect, service, and repair electrical components — motors, control panel, wiring, sensors
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults, performing first-line repairs
- Perform preventive maintenance (lubrication, torque checks, cable wear checks) per schedule
- Follow safety protocols and maintain maintenance/inspection logs
Required Qualifications
- ITI/ BTech in Mechanical or Mechatronics or Electrical
- 2+ years hands-on experience with winches, cranes, hoists, or similar mechanical/electrical equipment
- Working knowledge of both mechanical and electrical/hydraulic systems
Preferred
- Prior experience with tethered aerostats, balloons, or UAS ground systems
- Familiarity with DGCA or equivalent ground handling regulations
Pay: ₹19,725.86 - ₹62,154.11 per month
