About the Role
We are looking for a seasoned finance professional to head our Finance & Accounts department. The incumbent will own the complete finance function — accounting, statutory compliance, taxation, treasury, costing, budgeting, and MIS reporting — and will act as a strategic partner to the leadership team. The ideal candidate brings deep, hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment and a thorough command of all compliances applicable to a Private Limited / Limited company in India.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting
· Lead end-to-end accounting operations: general ledger, AP/AR, fixed assets, inventory accounting, and payroll accounting
· Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of books and preparation of financial statements in accordance with applicable Accounting Standards / Ind AS.
· Finalise annual accounts and coordinate statutory, internal, tax, and cost audits through to completion.
· Deliver accurate and timely MIS — P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, working capital, and key performance dashboards for management review.
Statutory Compliance (Pvt Ltd / Ltd Company)
· Ensure full compliance under the Companies Act, 2013 — ROC/MCA filings (AOC-4, MGT-7, DIR-3 KYC, etc.), board meeting support, statutory registers, and coordination with the Company Secretary.
· Own all direct tax compliance: corporate income tax, advance tax, TDS/TCS deduction, deposit and returns, Form 26AS/AIS reconciliations, and tax assessments.
· Own all indirect tax compliance: GST registrations, GSTR-1/3B/9/9C filings, input tax credit reconciliation (GSTR-2B), e-invoicing, e-way bills, refunds, and departmental audits/notices.
· Ensure compliance with labour-linked statutory payments and returns — PF, ESIC, Professional Tax, Gratuity, Bonus — in coordination with HR.
· Manage compliance related to banking and FEMA/RBI (if applicable), including foreign remittances, import/export documentation, and ODI/FDI reporting.
· Track changes in tax and corporate law, assess business impact, and keep the company audit-ready at all times.
Costing, Budgeting & Working Capital (Manufacturing Focus)
· Establish and maintain robust product costing, BOM-based cost sheets, standard vs. actual cost variance analysis, and cost audit compliance where applicable.
· Drive annual budgeting and rolling forecasts; monitor budget vs. actuals with variance commentary for each cost centre.
· Monitor inventory valuation, wastage/yield analysis, and plant-level profitability; work with operations to drive cost-reduction initiatives.
· Manage working capital rigorously — receivables, payables, inventory cycles — and optimise the cash conversion cycle.
Treasury, Banking & Fund Management
· Manage banking relationships, working capital limits (CC/OD), term loans, LCs/BGs, and periodic submissions (stock statements, FFRs, renewals).
· Plan and monitor cash flows to ensure liquidity for operations and capex; evaluate financing options and negotiate terms.
Internal Controls, Systems & Team Leadership
· Design and enforce internal financial controls, SOPs, and delegation-of-authority frameworks; plug revenue and cost leakages.
· Strengthen ERP/accounting systems (e.g., Tally/SAP/ERP) and drive automation of finance processes.
· Lead, mentor, and develop the finance & accounts team; set KPIs and review performance.
· Partner with the MD/Board on pricing decisions, capex evaluation, expansion plans, and any fundraising or due-diligence exercises.
Candidate Profile
Must-Have
· Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or ICWA/CMA — mandatory.
· 10–12 years of progressive post-qualification experience in finance & accounts, with at least 3–4 years in a leadership/HOD role.
· Strong preference for candidates from the manufacturing sector, with hands-on exposure to plant accounting, costing, and inventory management.
· Thorough, working knowledge of all compliances applicable to Private Limited / Limited companies — Companies Act, Income Tax, GST, TDS, PF/ESIC, and allied laws.
· Fluent in English — spoken and written — with the ability to present confidently to management, bankers, and auditors.
· Proficiency in ERP/accounting software (Tally Prime / SAP / equivalent) and advanced MS Excel.
Desirable
· Experience dealing with tax assessments, departmental audits, and regulatory notices independently.
· Exposure to export/import transactions, FEMA compliance, and multi-unit or multi-state GST operations.
· Experience implementing or upgrading an ERP system.
Key Attributes
· High integrity and ownership; hands-on approach with strong attention to detail.
· Commercially astute — able to translate numbers into business decisions.
Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and deadline discipline
