About the Role
Pluto Travels is looking for an experienced Finance Manager to lead the finance and accounts function for its India operations, with a focus on travel industry finance — including BSP/airline reconciliations, accounts receivable, MIS reporting, and process governance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in travel/BPO finance operations, team leadership, and client-facing financial reporting, and will be responsible for driving accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across the finance team.
Key Responsibilities
Team & People Management
- Lead and manage a finance team (accounts receivable, reconciliation, and reporting functions), including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Monitor individual and team productivity, quality, and accuracy; drive continuous improvement.
- Motivate and mentor team members to meet productivity and accuracy targets.
Financial Operations & Reconciliation
- Oversee BSP (Billing and Settlement Plan) billing reconciliation with company accounts.
- Manage supplier statement reconciliations on a monthly basis.
- Supervise reconciliation of cash, POS, EVV, and refund-payable transactions.
- Review and approve journal entries for variance/difference amounts.
- Oversee bank reconciliation and DTSR (Daily Transaction Sales Report) reconciliation.
- Manage low-cost carrier (LCC) stock and ticketing updates in relevant systems.
Accounts Receivable & Payable
- Own end-to-end accounts receivable operations: invoicing, credit control, and collections.
- Monitor credit limits and follow up with customers/clients on outstanding payments.
- Oversee accounts payable processes, including supplier payments and charge-backs.
- Ensure ageing analysis and outstanding reports are reviewed and actioned in a timely manner.
Reporting & MIS
- Prepare and present MIS reports, dashboards, and monthly business decks to leadership and clients.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting on TAT (Turnaround Time) and SLA compliance.
- Draft recommendations and analytical observations on overall financial and process performance.
- Support budgeting, P&L tracking, and internal financial reviews.
Process & Compliance
- Develop and maintain SOPs and process documentation for invoicing, reconciliation, and reporting workflows.
- Conduct periodic reviews of client/business contracts to ensure compliance with agreed terms.
- Identify and lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce errors.
- Handle escalations and process-related queries from associates, clients, and cross-functional teams.
- Liaise with onshore/international teams for clarifications, approvals, and issue resolution.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8–12 years of progressive experience in finance and accounts, preferably within the travel, aviation, or BPO/shared services industry.
- Proven experience in BSP reconciliation, accounts receivable/payable, bank reconciliation, and MIS reporting.
- Prior experience managing teams of 10+ members, including hiring, training, and performance reviews.
- Strong understanding of travel finance systems (e.g., Sabre, TABS, or similar accounting/travel platforms) is highly desirable.
- Excellent proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with experience handling international/onshore teams and corporate clients.
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, or Accounting (B.Com or equivalent); professional certifications (e.g., MBA Finance, CA Inter, CA) are a plus.
