Position Overview
Sesola Power Projects Private Limited is seeking a detail-oriented and compliance-driven Assistant Manager – Finance & Accounting to manage the organization’s accounts payable, treasury, and statutory taxation functions. The role requires a well-rounded finance and accounting professional who can ensure accurate, policy-compliant invoice processing and payments, maintain full compliance with applicable statutory tax obligations, and support broader finance operations including reconciliations, audits, and transactions for the company’s subsidiaries. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical ability with hands-on experience across payables, treasury, and Indian taxation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Payables Management
- Vet and validate all vendor invoices against the corresponding Purchase Orders (PO) and Work Orders (WO) prior to processing
- Verify actual delivery of goods or performance of services against invoice claims before approval
- Process vendor invoices for payment in accordance with company policies, approval matrices, and payment protocols
- Maintain accuracy, completeness, and timeliness across the end-to-end payables workflow
- Reconcile vendor accounts and resolve invoice or payment discrepancies in coordination with procurement and vendors
- Maintain proper documentation and audit trails for all payables transactions
2. Taxation & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure timely and accurate compliance with statutory obligations including Provident Fund (PF), Employee State Insurance (ESI), Professional Tax, Tax Deducted at Source (TDS), and Goods and Services Tax (GST)
- Prepare and file all applicable periodic and annual tax compliance returns within prescribed statutory deadlines
- Maintain organized tax documentation, working papers, and audit trails to support statutory and internal audits
- Monitor changes in tax regulations and proactively update internal processes to remain compliant
- Coordinate with external consultants, statutory auditors, and tax authorities as required
- Reconcile tax ledgers (including GST input/output and TDS receivable/payable) against filed statutory returns
Track and monitor all notices, communications, and correspondence received from statutory and regulatory authorities, and ensure timely and appropriate responses within the prescribed timelines by coordinating with the Management, Auditors, Tax Consultants, and other relevant stakeholders.
3. Additional Responsibilities
- Execute ad-hoc assignments and reporting as directed by the reporting manager
- Coordinate with the internal and statutory audit teams to ensure timely audit completion and deliverables
- Process payments through bank portals, cheques, and online payment systems as part of the treasury function
- Ensure bank reconciliations and vendor reconciliations are completed accurately and on schedule
- Handle billing and accounts receivable (AR) functions as required
- Manage financial transactions relating to Sesola’s subsidiary companies
Required Qualifications & Experience
Education: B.Com, M.Com, MBA, CA, or CMA
Experience: 4–5 years in finance, accounting, payables, taxation, or related roles, preferably within a corporate or project-based organization
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong working knowledge of Indian direct and indirect tax laws
- Sound understanding of accounts payable, treasury, and reconciliation processes, including PO/WO-based invoice validation
- Working knowledge of billing and accounts receivable (AR) processes
- Proficiency in accounting/ERP systems (e.g., Tally, SAP, or similar), bank payment portals, and advanced MS Excel skills
- High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to meeting statutory and internal deadlines
- Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multi-entity/subsidiary transactions and coordinate audit deliverables
- Effective communication and coordination skills for liaising with vendors, banks, auditors, and tax authorities
- Integrity, discretion, and sound judgment in handling confidential financial information
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
