Job Summary
The Art & Craft Teacher is responsible for fostering creativity, imagination, and artistic expression among students through engaging and age-appropriate art education. The teacher will plan and deliver lessons in drawing, painting, sculpture, craft, and mixed media while encouraging students to develop confidence, critical thinking, and appreciation for visual arts. The teacher will also support school events, exhibitions, and interdisciplinary projects.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Learning
- Plan and deliver engaging Art & Craft lessons aligned with the CBSE curriculum and school standards.
- Teach various art forms including drawing, sketching, painting, paper craft, clay modelling, collage, origami, and mixed media.
- Introduce students to different artists, art styles, techniques, and cultural art traditions.
- Encourage creativity, originality, and self-expression among students.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the learning needs of diverse learners.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and inspiring classroom environment.
Classroom Management
- Ensure discipline and effective classroom management during practical sessions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the art room.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and maintenance of art materials and equipment.
- Promote safe practices while using paints, scissors, glue guns, and other art tools.
Student Assessment
- Assess students based on creativity, effort, participation, technique, and project completion.
- Maintain records of student progress and portfolios.
- Provide constructive feedback to students and parents during PTMs.
- Identify and encourage talented students to participate in competitions.
School Activities
- Organize and coordinate art exhibitions and displays of student work.
- Prepare stage decorations, event backdrops, and creative displays for school functions.
- Support celebrations, annual day, sports day, cultural events, and festive decorations.
- Encourage participation in inter-school and intra-school art competitions.
Planning & Administration
- Prepare annual curriculum plans, lesson plans, and activity schedules.
- Maintain inventory of art supplies and submit requirements in advance.
- Ensure optimum utilization of materials while minimizing wastage.
- Submit reports, assessments, and documentation as required by the school.
Collaboration
- Work closely with class teachers and subject teachers on interdisciplinary projects.
- Participate actively in staff meetings, training sessions, workshops, and professional development programmes.
- Collaborate with school leadership to promote art-integrated learning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts (BFA), Visual Arts, Applied Arts, or equivalent.
- Diploma or Certification in Art & Craft is an added advantage.
- B.Ed. preferred for school teaching positions.
Experience
- Minimum 2–5 years of teaching experience in a CBSE/ICSE/International School preferred.
- Freshers with exceptional artistic skills and teaching aptitude may also apply.

Working Hours
As per the school's working schedule and academic calendar.
Additional Responsibilities
- Perform examination duties, invigilation, and supervision as assigned.
- Undertake any additional academic or administrative responsibilities assigned by the Principal.
- Uphold the school's vision, mission, values, child protection policy, POCSO guidelines, and Code of Conduct.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
