ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a passionate and qualified educator to join our Interior Design Department as a full-time faculty member. The ideal candidate combines strong academic credentials with real-world design practice and a commitment to nurturing the next generation of interior design professionals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Teaching & Instruction
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lectures, studio sessions, and workshops across undergraduate courses in Interior Design, including but not limited to: Space Planning, Furniture Design, Lighting Design, Materials & Finishes, History of Interiors, CAD/BIM software, and Design Studio.
- Develop up-to-date course curricula, syllabi, and assessment materials aligned with current industry standards and accreditation requirements.
- Mentor students through individual and group design projects, providing constructive critique and academic guidance.
- Supervise student internships, field visits, and final year thesis/capstone projects.
Academic & Administrative Duties
- Participate actively in departmental meetings, curriculum reviews, and academic planning.
- Assist in student admissions evaluations, portfolio reviews, and orientation programs.
- Contribute to departmental accreditation processes and quality assurance activities.
- Maintain accurate student attendance, grades, and academic records.
Research & Professional Development
- Engage in scholarly research, publications, or creative practice relevant to interior design.
- Represent the department at seminars, conferences, and industry events.
- Stay current with evolving design trends, sustainable practices, and emerging technologies in the field.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Master's degree (M.Des / M.Arch / MFA or equivalent) in Interior Design, Architecture, or a closely related discipline is required. A Ph.D. is preferred for senior positions.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of teaching experience at the undergraduate or postgraduate level. Candidates with 5+ years of industry experience and no prior teaching experience may also be considered.
Demonstrated professional practice in interior design — residential, commercial, hospitality, or institutional — is highly desirable.
Skills & Competencies: Proficiency in industry-standard software: AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, 3ds Max or similar rendering tools. Strong knowledge of building codes, space planning principles, ergonomics, and sustainability standards. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to inspire creativity while maintaining academic rigor.
PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES
- Experience with NAAC/NBA accreditation processes (for Indian institutions) or equivalent international accreditation bodies.
- Published research papers, design projects, or professional recognitions in the field.
- Experience integrating sustainability, universal design, or biophilic design principles into coursework.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
