We are looking for a Sales & Store Assistant who can support both customer interaction and store operations. The candidate should be active, responsible, and comfortable handling industrial materials, assisting customers, preparing orders, and coordinating with the billing and sales team.
This role is best suited for candidates who have worked in industrial goods, electrical, hardware, plumbing, sanitary, tools, machinery spare parts, pump/motor, switchgear, or warehouse/store environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist walk-in customers and understand their product requirements.
- Help customers identify the correct material, size, model, brand, or specification.
- Support the sales team in preparing materials for customer orders.
- Handle material picking, packing, loading, unloading, and dispatch.
- Arrange stock properly in racks, bins, shelves, and store areas.
- Check material quantity and condition before issuing or receiving goods.
- Coordinate with billing staff for invoice preparation and order completion.
- Maintain basic stock discipline, including product placement and item identification.
- Help in inward and outward material movement.
- Assist in stock counting and reporting low-stock or damaged items.
- Ensure quick and proper dispatch of customer orders.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the store and counter area.
- Handle industrial products carefully, including heavy or technical items.
Preferred Industry Background
Candidates from the following industries will be preferred:
- Industrial products / MRO stores
- Electrical goods and switchgear shops
- Hardware and tools stores
- Plumbing, PVC, CPVC, and pipe fittings stores
- Pump and motor dealers
- Bearing, gearbox, and machinery spare parts shops
- Sanitary or building material stores
- Warehouse or dispatch operations
- Industrial trading or wholesale counters
Required Skills
- Basic product understanding of industrial, electrical, hardware, or plumbing items.
- Ability to speak politely and confidently with customers.
- Good coordination with sales, billing, and store teams.
- Ability to read product names, sizes, quantities, and basic item codes.
- Physically active and willing to handle material movement.
- Basic computer knowledge is preferred.
- Honest, punctual, hardworking, and responsible.
- Willingness to learn new industrial products and brands.
Qualification
- Minimum 10th / 12th pass.
- Graduate candidates may also apply.
- Prior experience in a store, counter sales, warehouse, or industrial goods environment will be preferred.
Experience
Preferred: 1–3 years in store, sales counter, warehouse, dispatch, or industrial material handling.
Freshers may also apply if they are active, disciplined, and willing to learn.
Suitable Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should be someone who can stand at the counter, speak to customers, locate material quickly, handle stock, and support dispatch. The person should be comfortable working in a fast-moving industrial store environment with multiple product categories.
