Structural Engineer – Timber Structures will be responsible for structural analysis, design, and execution support for projects involving wood, mass timber, and Glulam systems. The role requires close collaboration with architects, design teams, and site execution teams to ensure structurally sound, efficient, and code-compliant timber-based structures.
Key Responsibilities-
Structural Design & Engineering
- Design and analyze structural systems using wood, engineered timber, Glulam, and hybrid structures
- Prepare structural calculations, drawings, and technical documentation
- Ensure compliance with relevant Indian and international codes for timber structures
Project Coordination & Execution Support
- Work closely with architects and design teams to integrate structural intent with architectural design
- Provide structural inputs during design development and value engineering stages
- Support site teams with structural clarifications, shop drawings, and execution guidance
Material & System Expertise
- Evaluate timber grades, connections, joinery, and fastening systems
- Recommend suitable engineered wood systems based on load, span, and design requirements
- Review fabrication and installation methodologies for timber structures
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure structural safety, stability, and durability of timber structures
- Conduct site inspections and resolve structural issues during execution
- Maintain proper documentation for approvals, audits, and compliance
Collaboration & Innovation
- Coordinate with external consultants, fabricators, and vendors
- Stay updated on global best practices in mass timber and sustainable construction
- Contribute to R&D initiatives for innovative wood engineering solutions
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of wood, engineered timber, Glulam, CLT, and hybrid structures
- Expertise in structural analysis and load calculations
- Proficiency in structural design software (ETABS, STAAD, SAP2000, RFEM, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings
- Strong coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil / Structural Engineering
- Experience in structural design and execution
- Mandatory experience in wood / timber-based structures
- Experience in luxury residential or architect-led projects is preferred
