Job Purpose
To manage and control day-to-day stores and warehouse operations, ensuring timely availability, accurate inventory, proper material handling, systematic storage, and smooth material movement to Production and other departments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Store & Warehouse Operations
- Manage day-to-day inward, storage, issue, transfer, and outward movement of materials.
- Ensure proper identification, segregation, stacking, and preservation of materials.
- Maintain systematic warehouse layout and optimize storage space.
- Ensure FIFO/FEFO practices wherever applicable.
- Monitor loading/unloading and material handling activities.
2. Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate stock levels and minimize excess, shortage, damage, and obsolete inventory.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical stock verification.
- Investigate and resolve inventory variances.
- Monitor slow-moving, non-moving, and obsolete materials.
- Ensure proper documentation for all stock transactions.
3. Material Receipt & Inspection Coordination
- Coordinate with Purchase, Quality, and Production teams for incoming material.
- Verify quantity against PO/challan/invoice and ensure proper GRN processing.
- Coordinate with Quality for material inspection and rejection/acceptance.
- Ensure rejected materials are properly identified and segregated.
4. Material Issue to Production
- Ensure timely issue of raw materials, consumables, tools, and other materials as per approved requirements.
- Maintain proper material issue records.
- Coordinate closely with Production and Planning teams to avoid production stoppages due to material shortages.
5. ERP & Documentation
- Ensure timely and accurate entries of GRN, material issues, transfers, returns, and stock adjustments in ERP.
- Maintain all stores-related records and documentation.
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly inventory and stores reports.
- Ensure proper reconciliation between physical stock and system stock.
6. Team Management
- Supervise and guide Store Executives, Store Assistants, Helpers, and material-handling personnel.
- Allocate daily responsibilities and monitor team productivity.
- Ensure discipline, housekeeping, safety, and compliance within the stores area.
7. Coordination
- Coordinate with Purchase, Production, Planning, Quality, Finance, Maintenance, and Logistics teams.
- Follow up on pending materials and communicate shortages or urgent requirements to concerned departments.
- Support procurement and planning teams with accurate inventory information.
8. Safety & 5S
- Ensure compliance with plant safety procedures and material handling guidelines.
- Maintain proper 5S standards in the warehouse/store.
- Ensure safe stacking and storage of materials.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions and implement corrective actions.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Stores & Inventory Management
- Manufacturing industry experience preferred
- Hands-on experience in ERP/SAP/Tally or other inventory management systems
- Knowledge of GRN, material issue, stock transfer, physical verification and reconciliation
- Good understanding of warehouse management and material handling
- Strong Excel and MIS reporting skills
- Good team-handling and coordination skills
- Problem-solving and analytical ability
- Strong communication and follow-up skills
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
