Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Machine Shop Head to lead and manage machining operations for a growing foundry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for production planning, quality control, machine utilization, team management, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure timely delivery of high-quality machined castings.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day machine shop operations, including CNC and conventional machining.
- Ensure production targets, quality standards, and delivery schedules are achieved.
- Coordinate with Foundry, Quality, Maintenance, and Planning teams.
- Monitor machine utilization, productivity, and downtime.
- Develop and optimize machining processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S, TPM, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Manage manpower planning, training, performance reviews, and workforce development.
- Analyze production data and implement corrective actions for quality and productivity issues.
- Oversee tooling management, preventive maintenance, and equipment performance.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in machining operations within a foundry or manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining, tooling, GD&T, and engineering drawings.
- Experience with ERP systems and production planning.
