**Industrial Designer – Product Development (Mechanical Engineering Background)**
Location: UAE | Full-time | Visa sponsorship available after the training period.
The salary indicated is for the training period. If the company decides to hire you, you will be offered a UAE package.
Deep, hands-on experience with 3D printing technologies is an absolute must — including at least 2+ years working with industrial-grade systems (FDM, SLA, SLS, or metal printing). You understand material properties, print limitations, tolerances, and cost trade-offs
**About This Opportunity**
We're seeking an experienced Industrial Designer to lead the design and development of innovative, market-defining products. You'll own projects from concept through manufacturing, collaborating with engineering, software, and production teams to create designs that are beautiful, functional, and built to scale. If you combine a mechanical engineering foundation with a design-forward mindset, we want to meet you.
**What You'll Do**
- **Conceptualize & Develop:** Transform ideas into viable product concepts, balancing user needs, aesthetic vision, and manufacturing constraints
- **Design & Model:** Create detailed 3D CAD models, technical drawings, and high-quality renderings that communicate design intent to stakeholders and manufacturers
- **Cross-functional Leadership:** Partner with software, electrical, and manufacturing teams to solve design challenges and optimize for performance, cost, and quality
- **Material & Process Expertise:** Specify materials, manufacturing processes, and assembly methods that meet performance targets and sustainability goals
- **Prototype & Iterate:** Lead prototyping, testing, and design refinement cycles based on user feedback and engineering constraints
- **Compliance & Safety:** Ensure all designs meet relevant regulatory standards, safety certifications, and quality benchmarks
**What We're Looking For**
**Must-Haves:**
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent industrial design experience)
- 3+ years in product/industrial design (consumer electronics, medical devices, or assistive technology preferred)
- Expert-level proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or equivalent)
- Strong grasp of materials science, manufacturing techniques, and mechanical design principles
- Portfolio demonstrating 1-2 shipped or market-ready products
- Excellent verbal and visual communication skills
**Nice-to-Have:**
- Master's degree in Industrial Design or Human-Centered Design
- Experience with rendering software (KeyShot, Rhino, Blender, or Alias)
- Familiarity with design for accessibility or medical device regulations (ISO 13485, FDA, etc.)
- Experience working in fast-paced startup or scale-up environments
**About You**
You're someone who sees both the big picture and the smallest detail. You understand that great design is invisible—it solves problems so elegantly that users never think twice. You're comfortable defending your design decisions with data and user insights, and you thrive when working alongside teams from different disciplines. You're also pragmatic: you know when to push for the perfect solution and when to ship a good one.
**What We Offer**
- Competitive salary + benefits package
- Sponsorship and relocation support for international candidates
- Opportunity to work on products used by thousands (or millions)
- Access to prototyping facilities and manufacturing partnerships
- Professional development budget for certifications and tools
- Collaborative, design-forward team culture
**How to Apply**
Please submit:
1. **Resume** highlighting relevant product design projects
2. **Portfolio** (digital link or PDF, max 20 MB) showcasing 3–5 key projects. Include:
- Project overview and your role
- Design process (sketches → CAD → prototype → final product)
- Key design decisions and trade-offs
- Final product images or demo links
3. **Brief cover letter** (1 paragraph) explaining why this role interests you
