Job Summary
The Sports Coach / Instructor is responsible for planning, organizing, and conducting coaching sessions for various sports, including tennis, badminton, and other recreational or competitive games. The role involves developing players' technical skills, physical fitness, sportsmanship, and overall performance while ensuring a safe and positive training environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct coaching and training sessions for tennis, badminton, and other sports activities.
- Teach fundamental and advanced techniques, rules, and strategies of the respective sports.
- Assess players' abilities and prepare customized training programs.
- Monitor and improve participants' physical fitness, agility, coordination, and performance.
- Organize practice matches, tournaments, and sports events.
- Ensure proper use, maintenance, and safety of sports equipment and facilities.
- Motivate and mentor participants to achieve their sporting goals.
- Maintain attendance, performance records, and progress reports.
- Promote discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship among players.
- Stay updated with current coaching methods, sports regulations, and fitness practices.
- Provide first-level assistance in case of minor sports injuries and ensure safety protocols are followed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field preferred.
- Certification in Tennis, Badminton, or Sports Coaching is an advantage.
- Knowledge of multiple sports and fitness training techniques.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of tennis, badminton, and other sports activities.
- Excellent coaching, communication, and motivational skills.
- Ability to train individuals and groups of different age categories.
- Good organizational and event management skills.
- Understanding of sports safety standards and injury prevention.
- Leadership and team-building abilities.
Experience
- 1–5 years of experience as a Sports Coach, Instructor, or Physical Education Trainer.
- Experience coaching tennis, badminton, and other indoor/outdoor sports preferred.
Working Conditions
- Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and during sports events.
- Willingness to work outdoors and indoors depending on sports activities.
