Job OverviewThe Mechanical Designer will create detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings for mechanical components, assemblies, and systems. This role bridges the gap between engineering concepts and production, ensuring designs are functional, safe, and cost-effective.
Key Responsibilities
- CAD Modeling: Develop precise 3D models and assemblies using software like SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or Creo.
- Technical Drawings: Create detailed 2D production drawings with accurate dimensions, welding symbols, and surface finishes.
- GD&T Application: Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure proper fit and function.
- DFM/DFA: Design components optimized for manufacturing (DFM) and assembly (DFA) to reduce production costs.
- BOM Management: Generate and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) within PLM/ERP systems.
- Prototyping & Testing: Support the fabrication of prototypes and participate in physical testing and validation.
- Collaboration: Work closely with manufacturing teams, suppliers, and senior engineers to resolve design issues.
- Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience: 2–5 years of proven experience in mechanical design or drafting.
- Software Mastery: High proficiency in at least one major 3D CAD tool (SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, Inventor).
- Material Knowledge: Strong understanding of metals, plastics, manufacturing processes (machining, molding, sheet metal), and finishes.
- Standards: Familiarity with industry standards such as ASME Y14.5 or ISO equivalents.
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
