Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented design engineer to support the design and development of products and components in our manufacturing process. The ideal candidate will work closely with production, quality, and R&D teams to create innovative, efficient, and manufacturable designs that meet industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed 2D drawings and 3D CAD models for parts, assemblies, and tooling using software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA.
- Collaborate with production and process teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective.
- Interpret customer specifications, standards, and requirements to develop accurate design solutions.
- Perform design validation, tolerance stack-up analysis, and design for manufacturability (DFM).
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, including bills of materials (BOM), assembly instructions, and revision history.
- Support prototyping, testing, and pilot production activities.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to address product development and process improvement.
Performance Expectations:
- Accuracy and completeness of drawings and BOMs.
- Timely delivery of design projects.
- Collaboration and effective communication with cross-functional teams.
- Suggest innovative solutions for cost, quality, and manufacturability improvements.
- Continuous learning and adaptation to new technologies.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial design, or a related field.
- Proven experience (2 to 5+ years) in mechanical design within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong proficiency in CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and CATIA).
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes (injection molding, machining, sheet metal fabrication).
- Good understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Qualification
- BE / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Experience
- 2– 7 years of experience in design engineering or product design.
