Job Description – Jewellery CAD Designer
Job Summary
We are looking for a creative and technically skilled Jewellery CAD Designer who can transform jewellery concepts, sketches, and customer requirements into accurate 3D CAD models. The candidate should have strong knowledge of jewellery designing, gemstone settings, gold/platinum jewellery manufacturing processes, and the ability to create production-ready CAD files.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed 3D jewellery designs for rings, earrings, bangles, necklaces, pendants, bracelets, and other ornaments.
- Convert hand sketches, reference images, and design concepts into 3D CAD models.
- Develop jewellery models using software such as:
- Rhino 3D
- MatrixGold
- JewelCAD
- ZBrush (added advantage)
- Other jewellery CAD software
- Prepare accurate models considering:
- Gold weight optimization
- Stone size and placement
- Prong/bezel/channel settings
- Manufacturing requirements
- Finishing and polishing requirements
- Create production-ready CAD files for casting and manufacturing.
- Modify designs based on customer feedback, design changes, and production requirements.
- Ensure designs are technically feasible for jewellery manufacturing.
- Coordinate with designers, stone setters, wax/casting teams, and production departments.
- Prepare renders/images for customer approval and product presentation.
- Maintain CAD design files, revisions, and design databases.
- Support new product development and design improvement activities.
Technical Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of jewellery CAD modelling techniques.

- Chains
- Bangles
- Bridal jewellery designs
- Knowledge of gemstone shapes, sizes, and setting methods.
- Understanding of:
- Casting process
- Wax/resin printing
- Gold weight calculation
- Jewellery manufacturing limitations
- Stone loss prevention
- Ability to create clean topology and accurate 3D models.
- Good visualization skills and attention to design details.
Software Knowledge
Mandatory:
- Rhino 3D / MatrixGold / JewelCAD
Preferred:
- ZBrush
- KeyShot rendering
- Photoshop/CorelDRAW (basic knowledge)
Qualification
- Diploma / Degree in Jewellery Design, CAD Design, or related field.
- Certified Jewellery CAD course preferred.
Experience Required
- Fresher: Jewellery CAD training with good portfolio.
- Experienced: 2–7 years experience in jewellery CAD designing preferred.
