The Software Development Engineer I (SDE I) – Java Developer is an entry-level engineering role responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable software solutions using Java and related technologies. This role is ideal for engineers early in their career who are eager to grow their technical skills while contributing to impactful projects.
Key job responsibilities
Design & Development – Write clean, efficient, and well-documented Java code to build and enhance software applications and services
System Design – Contribute to the design of scalable, reliable, and maintainable systems under the guidance of senior engineers
Code Quality – Participate in code reviews, write unit and integration tests, and follow best practices for software development
Debugging & Troubleshooting – Identify, diagnose, and resolve software defects and performance issues
Collaboration – Work closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver features on time
Documentation – Maintain technical documentation for systems, APIs, and processes
On-Call Support – Participate in on-call rotations to support production systems as needed
- 1+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
