Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled manual Lathe Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC lathe machines to produce precision components according to specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical processes, quality control, and the ability to read blueprints. The manual Lathe Operator will play a crucial role in ensuring that production goals are met while maintaining high standards of quality.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual lathe machines for the production of precision parts.
- Interpret and analyze blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining specifications.
- Utilize GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles to ensure accuracy in machining processes.
- Perform quality control checks using tools such as micrometers and calipers to ensure parts meet specified tolerances.
- Conduct routine maintenance on machines and troubleshoot any issues that arise during operation.
- Collaborate with team members on the assembly line to optimize workflow and efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Lathe Operator or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand complex machinery operations.
- Proficiency in programming machines is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with tooling, quality control processes, and basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
- Attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
