Global Storage & Backup Engineer
The Global Storage & Backup Engineer is responsible for the reliability, resiliency, and continuous improvement of enterprise storage and data protection services across a global environment. This role provides technical ownership of NetApp and Lenovo storage platforms and Commvault backup services, ensuring business‑critical data is protected, recoverable, and aligned with operational, continuity, and governance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead global engineering and operational support for NetApp and Lenovo storage platforms.
- Own enterprise Commvault backup and recovery services, including recoverability, retention, and operational performance.
- Drive capacity planning , platform optimization, and lifecycle management across storage environments.
- Partner with infrastructure, security, and application teams to support business continuity and operational excellence.
- Deliver monthly KPI reporting covering backup success, restore readiness, capacity utilization, service levels, and incident trends.
- Strengthen service resiliency through proactive risk management, incident response, and operational governance.
- Maintain documentation, standards, and operational processes that improve reliability and reduce risk.
- Drive automation, standardization, and modernization to improve service quality, reduce manual effort, and increase operational maturity.
- Evaluate and apply AI‑driven capabilities to improve operational efficiency, strengthen insights, and accelerate automation while maintaining governance and control.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of enterprise experience with NetApp and Lenovo storage technologies.
- Demonstrated expertise administering Commvault, or other backup solutions, in complex backup and recovery environments.
- Strong working knowledge of SAN, NAS, replication, snapshots, retention , and disaster recovery.
- Ability to translate operational data into clear, leadership‑ready KPI reporting .
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills within a global operating model.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting globally distributed infrastructure environments.
- Familiarity with virtualization , automation, and business continuity practices.
- Relevant certifications in storage, backup, or infrastructure technologies.
