As we continue to grow, we are looking for a proactive and results-driven Upwork Business Development Executive who can identify opportunities, build client relationships, and contribute to business growth through online bidding platforms.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Upwork BDE to drive business acquisition through Upwork and other freelancing platforms. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of client requirements, proposal writing, project acquisition, and relationship management.
The role requires someone who can effectively communicate with international clients, understand business needs, coordinate with technical teams, and convert opportunities into long-term engagements.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify relevant project opportunities on Upwork and other business acquisition platforms.
- Analyze client requirements and determine project suitability.
- Prepare customized proposals, cover letters, and responses tailored to client needs.
- Engage with prospective clients and manage communication throughout the sales cycle.
- Schedule and participate in client discussions, discovery calls, and requirement gathering sessions.
- Coordinate with technical teams to understand project scope, effort estimates, and solution approaches.
- Follow up consistently with prospects to maximize conversion opportunities.
- Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities and client conversations.
- Negotiate project terms, timelines, and commercial discussions when required.
- Maintain accurate records of proposals, client interactions, and project opportunities.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market demand, and competitor offerings.
- Contribute to achieving business development targets and revenue goals.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in Upwork Business Development, Online Bidding, or IT Sales.
- Proven experience acquiring projects through Upwork.
- Strong proposal writing and client communication skills.
- Ability to understand and analyze client requirements effectively.
- Experience working with international clients and global markets.
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Familiarity with CRM tools and sales tracking processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, IT, or a related field.
Good to Have
- Experience selling IT Services, Data Engineering, BI, AI/ML, Software Development, or related technology solutions.
- Exposure to LinkedIn-based lead generation and outbound business development.
- Understanding of project estimation and software development lifecycles.
- Experience handling clients from the US, UK, Europe, Australia, or the Middle East.
- Knowledge of proposal automation and sales productivity tools.
