Job Overview:
The Cashier is responsible for handling day-to-day cash transactions, ensuring accurate processing of payments, maintaining cash records, and providing excellent customer service. This role supports smooth branch operations by managing cash collections, issuing receipts, balancing cash drawers, and ensuring compliance with company financial procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and process cash, credit/debit card, and digital payments accurately and efficiently.
- Issue receipts, refunds, and payment acknowledgments while maintaining proper transaction records.
- Balance cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift and reconcile discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records of daily cash collections and deposits.
- Prepare and submit daily cash reports and transaction summaries to the finance department.
- Ensure all cash handling procedures comply with company policies and internal controls.
- Assist customers with payment-related inquiries and provide professional customer service.
- Coordinate with the finance team to resolve payment discrepancies and support audit requirements.
- Safeguard cash, financial documents, and other valuable assets entrusted to the cashier station.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Cashier, Teller, or in a similar cash-handling role.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and cash management procedures.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, POS systems, and cash management software.
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle transactions efficiently.
- High level of integrity, honesty, and accountability in handling financial transactions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹11,000.00 - ₹13,000.00 per month
