Job Summary:
We are hiring a Medical Coder with hands-on experience in cardiology and multi-specialty coding to support our RCM operations. The candidate will be responsible for accurate coding of medical records and ensuring clean claim submission. Certification is not mandatory; however, strong practical knowledge of coding guidelines and medical billing processes is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review clinical documentation and assign appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
- Perform coding for cardiology services including E&M, ECG, stress tests, and echocardiography
- Ensure accuracy in coding to minimize denials and rejections
- Work closely with AR and billing teams to resolve coding-related issues
- Verify charge capture and identify missing or incorrect codes
- Follow payer-specific coding guidelines and compliance standards
- Maintain quality and productivity benchmarks
- Stay updated with coding changes and payer requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Graduate in any stream (Life Sciences preferred but not mandatory)
- 1–4 years of experience in medical coding / medical billing
- Strong working knowledge of:
- ICD-10
- CPT
- HCPCS
- Basic understanding of cardiology procedures such as:
- E&M coding
- ECG / Stress Test
- Echocardiography
- Familiarity with US healthcare system and insurance guidelines
- Good analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in night shift (US timings)
Preferred Skills (Optional):
- Experience in additional specialties (Radiology, Internal Medicine, Surgery)
- Exposure to denial management related to coding
- Familiarity with EHR systems like eClinicalWorks (eCW)
- Coding certification (CPC/CCS) is a plus but not required
