Key Responsibilities
- Operate SAW welding machines for welding plates, beams, structural components, tanks, pressure vessels, and other fabricated assemblies.
- Set up the welding machine according to approved WPS (Welding Procedure Specification).
- Select and set the correct welding current, voltage, wire feed speed, travel speed, and flux.
- Check welding wire, flux, polarity, and machine settings before starting work.
- Read and understand fabrication drawings, weld symbols, WPS, and work instructions.
- Ensure proper fit-up, alignment, tack welding, and joint preparation before welding.
- Monitor welding parameters during operation and make adjustments when required.
- Ensure proper flux coverage and maintain consistent welding speed.
- Remove slag and clean weld areas after welding.
- Visually inspect welds for defects such as cracks, porosity, undercut, lack of fusion, and incomplete penetration.
- Coordinate with fitters, welders, QC inspectors, and fabrication supervisors.
- Carry out basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance of SAW equipment.
- Maintain welding consumables properly and prevent contamination or wastage of flux and wire.
- Follow production schedules and achieve daily production targets.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and follow PPE, safety, and 5S requirements.
- Report machine problems, welding defects, and unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
