We are a creative interior design firm based in Kochi, specializing in residential, commercial, and bespoke interior spaces. We are passionate about delivering functional, and aesthetically refined designs with exceptional attention to detail. As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Senior Cad Draftsman who can lead our drafting team and ensure high-quality technical documentation for projects. The ideal candidate should be capable of producing accurate and fast technical drawings, coordinating with designers and site teams, and mentoring junior draftsmen to maintain the highest drafting standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare detailed interior design working drawings, including:
* Floor plans
* Furniture layouts
* False ceiling plans
* Electrical layouts
* Plumbing layouts
* Flooring layouts
* Elevations and sections
* Joinery and custom furniture details
* Kitchen and wardrobe detailing
* Produce drawings quickly while maintaining a high level of accuracy and quality.
* Review design concepts and convert them into construction-ready drawings.
* Coordinate with interior designers, project managers, vendors, and site engineers to ensure drawing accuracy.
* Revise drawings promptly based on client or project requirements.
* Ensure drawings comply with company standards and execution requirements.
* Identify and resolve drafting conflicts before site execution.
* Maintain proper documentation and version control of all project drawings.
* Lead, supervise, and mentor junior draftsmen.
* Allocate drafting tasks, monitor productivity, preparing agenda for the day, and ensure deadlines are consistently met.
* Review and approve drawings prepared by junior team members before submission.
* Support the team in resolving technical drafting challenges and improving drafting efficiency.
Required Qualifications
* Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.
* Minimum *3+ years* of experience in interior design drafting.
* Proven experience leading or supervising drafting teams.
* Strong knowledge of residential and commercial interior detailing.
* An understanding of construction methods, materials, and site execution.
* Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines without compromising quality.
Technical Skills
* Advanced proficiency in *AutoCAD* (mandatory).
* Good working knowledge of *SketchUp*.
* Familiarity with *3ds Max, **Revit, or **BIM* is an added advantage.
* Strong understanding of MS Office applications.
* Excellent drafting speed and precision.
* Ability to read and interpret design drawings, consultant drawings, and site measurements.
