1. Basic Role Summary
A Clinic Coordinator / Clinical Assistant supports the doctor in:
- Managing daily clinic operations
- Handling patients smoothly
- Assisting in basic medical procedures
Think of it as: “Doctor’s right hand” (admin + patient care)
2. Key Responsibilities A. Patient Handling
- Register patients and maintain records
- Guide patients through consultation process
- Manage patient flow (avoid crowding, delays)
- Handle basic queries and follow-ups
B. Doctor Support (Clinical Work)
- Prepare patients before consultation (vitals, history)
- Assist during minor procedures/dressings
- Maintain hygiene and sterilization
- Manage medical instruments
C. Administrative Work
- Appointment scheduling (calls/WhatsApp)
- Maintain OPD records/files/software
- Coordinate lab tests, reports, prescriptions
D. Coordination Role
- Act as link between doctor, patients, and lab/pharmacy
- Ensure smooth daily operations of clinic
- Handle emergencies calmly
3. Skills Required
- Good communication (Hindi + basic English)
- Basic medical knowledge (preferred, not always mandatory)
- Computer skills (Excel, clinic software)
- Organized and multitasking ability
- Polite and patient-friendly attitude
4. Qualification (Typical in India)
- Graduate / Diploma in Any medical or Non Medical
- Preferred: Diploma in medical/nursing/healthcare
- Experience: 1–5 years (freshers can also apply)
5. Salary Range (India – rough guide)
- Fresher: ₹10,000 – ₹15,000/month
- Experienced: ₹15,000 – ₹20,000/month
- Skilled (with procedures/software): ₹20,000+
