Job Summary
The Quantity Surveyor & Billing Engineer is responsible for managing the financial, contractual, and billing activities of construction projects. This includes quantity take-off, cost estimation, preparation of BOQ, client billing, subcontractor billing, measurement verification, and overall cost control to ensure accurate project financial management.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
- Prepare project cost estimates and budgets.
- Review drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Prepare and evaluate quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Prepare client bills, running account (RA) bills, and final bills.
- Prepare subcontractor bills and verify their measurements.
- Take joint measurements at site and maintain measurement books.
- Verify quantities executed at site with site engineers.
- Handle variations, extra items, and rate analysis.
- Prepare interim payment applications and final accounts.
- Monitor project costs and ensure effective cost control.
- Coordinate with site, project, procurement, and accounts teams.
- Maintain proper records of measurements, billing, and contract documents.
- Assist in contract administration and commercial negotiations.
- Prepare regular cost and billing status reports for management.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms and billing procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
- Experience in construction projects (building / infrastructure).
- Strong knowledge of BOQ preparation, estimation, and billing procedures.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and billing/quantity surveying software.
- Good understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
