Job Description:
We are looking for a highly motivated PCB Design Engineer with practical experience in designing reliable, production-ready electronic hardware for robotics and motor control applications. The candidate will be involved throughout the complete hardware development lifecycle—from schematic design and PCB layout to prototype validation, testing, and manufacturing support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design multi-layer PCBs for motor controllers, robotics, embedded systems, and sensor interface circuits.
- Develop schematics, perform component selection, and create optimized PCB layouts considering signal integrity, power integrity, thermal performance, and manufacturability.
- Design analog and digital circuits including power supplies, sensor conditioning circuits, communication interfaces, and protection circuits.
- Integrate sensors such as encoders, IMUs, current sensors, Hall sensors, temperature sensors, force/torque sensors, and other industrial sensors into embedded hardware platforms.
- Design hardware for BLDC/PMSM motor controllers, gate driver circuits, isolated power supplies, current sensing, and feedback systems.
- Perform design verification through simulations, schematic reviews, and prototype testing.
- Debug hardware issues using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and other laboratory equipment.
- Prepare complete hardware documentation including schematics, PCB fabrication files, BOMs, assembly drawings, and design guidelines.
- Coordinate with firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams during product development and validation.
- Support prototype bring-up, EMC/EMI improvements, and production release activities.
- Recommend design improvements to enhance performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost optimization.
Required Skills:
- Strong understanding of analog and digital electronics.
- Hands-on experience in PCB design for motor control, embedded electronics, or robotic systems.
- Good understanding of BLDC/PMSM motor controller hardware architecture.
- Experience designing multi-layer PCBs with proper grounding, impedance control, and high-current routing.
- Experience with sensor interface circuit design and signal conditioning.
- Knowledge of communication protocols such as SPI, I²C, UART, CAN, RS-485, and Ethernet.
- Experience with power electronics including MOSFETs, gate drivers, DC-DC converters, protection circuits, and current sensing.
- Ability to read, analyze, and troubleshoot electronic schematics.
- Strong debugging and hardware validation skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience using Altium Designer and/or KiCad (KiCad preferred).
- Knowledge of PCB manufacturing, DFM (Design for Manufacturability), DFA (Design for Assembly), and IPC standards.
- Experience with STM32 or similar embedded controllers.
- Familiarity with EMC/EMI design practices.
- Basic understanding of functional safety and hardware reliability principles.
