Role Description The Food Production Faculty (Chef) will deliver practical and theoretical instruction in culinary arts and food production to hospitality management learners. This full-time, on-site role is based at the IIHM campus in Siliguri and involves planning and conducting kitchen lab sessions, demonstrations, and classroom lectures aligned with the institute’s curriculum. The faculty member will guide learners in fundamental and advanced cooking techniques, kitchen safety, hygiene standards, menu planning, and presentation skills. Responsibilities include designing lesson plans, preparing training materials, assessing learner performance, and providing constructive feedback to support academic and professional growth. The role also involves coordinating with other faculty, supporting events, workshops, and industry interactions, and contributing to continuous improvement of the food production program.
Qualifications
- Professional culinary expertise with strong skills in food production, menu planning, and kitchen operations, preferably with experience in hotels, restaurants, or hospitality institutions.
- Teaching, training, or mentoring abilities, including lesson planning, practical demonstration skills, and learner assessment in a culinary or hospitality education setting.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards, with the ability to instill best practices and compliance in a training kitchen environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage diverse learner groups, provide feedback, and collaborate with academic and administrative teams.
- Relevant academic background, such as a diploma or degree in Hotel Management, Culinary Arts, or Food Production; advanced certifications or specialized culinary training are an advantage.
- Ability to work full time on-site in Siliguri, with a learner-centric approach, adaptability to institutional requirements, and commitment to continuous professional development.
- Experience with international or multi-cuisine food production, and exposure to global hospitality standards will be considered beneficial.
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
