Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in IT Infrastructure, System Administration, or Technical Support.
Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related discipline.
- Relevant technical certifications (Linux, Microsoft, CompTIA, etc.) will be an added advantage.
Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated and technically sound Linux/Windows System Administrator to join our Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate should possess basic knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems, be capable of performing first-level troubleshooting, and support day-to-day IT infrastructure operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Perform basic system administration tasks such as user creation, password resets, and permission management.
- Monitor server health and system performance.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, operating system, and network-related issues.
- Support installation and configuration of applications and system updates.
- Assist in backup and recovery activities.
- Monitor system logs and escalate critical issues to senior administrators.
- Document incidents, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
- Coordinate with internal teams and vendors to resolve infrastructure-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with IT security policies and best practices.
Required Technical Skills
- Basic knowledge of Linux operating systems (Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat, Oracle Linux, etc.).
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and Windows desktop operating systems.
- Understanding of file systems, user management, and permissions.
- Basic networking knowledge including IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP.
- Familiarity with command-line utilities in Linux and Windows.
- Basic understanding of Active Directory.
- Knowledge of remote desktop tools and SSH.
- Ability to perform basic troubleshooting for operating system, application, and network issues.
Soft Skills
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Willingness to learn new technologies.
- Ability to work in shifts, if required.
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (OCI, AWS, or Azure) is an added advantage.
- Understanding of ITIL processes and ticketing tools.
