Job Summary
The Preschool Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for children aged 2–6 years. The teacher will implement the preschool curriculum, foster holistic child development, maintain positive relationships with parents, and ensure the well-being and safety of every child.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Learning
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons as per the prescribed curriculum.
- Conduct engaging circle time, storytelling, phonics, numeracy, art & craft, music, and sensory activities.
- Promote children's cognitive, language, physical, social, and emotional development.
- Observe and assess each child's learning progress and maintain developmental records.
- Encourage curiosity, creativity, and independent thinking through play-based learning.
Classroom Management
- Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Ensure classroom materials and learning aids are well maintained.
- Establish daily routines and positive classroom behaviour.
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, meals, and transitions.
Child Safety & Well-being
- Ensure the safety, security, and well-being of every child at all times.
- Follow school policies on child protection, hygiene, and emergency procedures.
- Report any health, behavioural, or developmental concerns to the Centre Head.
Parent Communication
- Build positive relationships with parents and guardians.
- Share regular updates on children's progress and classroom activities.
- Attend parent-teacher meetings, orientations, and school events.
- Address parent concerns professionally and promptly.
School Responsibilities
- Participate in annual events, celebrations, admissions, and marketing activities.
- Prepare classrooms for inspections, audits, and parent visits.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and support staff.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Psychology, or any graduate degree.
- Montessori, NTT, ECCEd, D.Ed., or equivalent certification is preferred.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in a preschool or early childhood education setting.
- Freshers with relevant qualifications and a passion for teaching may also apply.
Skills Required
- Excellent communication skills in English (knowledge of Kannada/Hindi is an added advantage).
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Creativity in planning engaging learning experiences.
- Patience, empathy, and a caring attitude towards children.
- Good observation and documentation skills.
- Basic computer skills (MS Office, email, digital learning tools).
