About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Purchase Manager for our client to lead procurement operations for a fast-growing food manufacturing setup. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing raw materials, packaging materials, and indirect purchases while ensuring cost efficiency, quality standards, and uninterrupted supply for production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end procurement of raw materials, packaging, and consumables
- Develop and maintain a strong vendor base across food and FMCG categories
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and payment terms to optimize costs
- Ensure timely procurement to avoid production disruptions
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production & warehouse teams
- Maintain purchase records, documentation, and compliance with audit requirements
- Track market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supplier performance
- Work closely with quality teams to ensure material standards and specifications
- Drive cost-saving initiatives and process improvements in procurement
Required Skills & Experience:
- 1–8 years of experience in procurement within food manufacturing / FMCG
- Strong vendor management and negotiation skills
- Good understanding of raw materials, packaging, and supply chain processes
- Familiarity with food safety standards and compliance requirements
- Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems
- Strong analytical and cost optimization mindset
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in food processing / bakery / packaged foods industry
- Exposure to multi-location vendor sourcing
