About the Role
Narayana Educational Institutions is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and result-oriented Principal to lead and manage the overall functioning of the school. The Principal will be responsible for driving academic excellence, ensuring operational efficiency, developing faculty, maintaining student discipline, ensuring compliance with CBSE norms, and fostering a positive learning environment aligned with the organization's vision and values.
Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic Leadership
- Ensure high standards of teaching and learning across all grades.
- Monitor academic performance and implement strategies to improve student outcomes.
- Conduct regular classroom observations, lesson plan reviews, and academic audits.
- Drive effective implementation of the CBSE curriculum and educational best practices.
- Analyze examination results and formulate action plans for continuous improvement.
- Ensure competency-based learning and assessment methodologies as prescribed by CBSE.
- Lead academic planning, teacher mentoring, and student performance enhancement initiatives.
School Administration
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the school.
- Ensure compliance with school policies, educational regulations, and safety standards.
- Manage school resources effectively to achieve organizational goals.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to academics, staff, and students.
- Ensure smooth coordination among academic, administrative, and support functions.
Faculty Management & Development
- Recruit, mentor, and retain high-performing teaching and non-teaching staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Organize training programs, workshops, and professional development initiatives.
- Ensure teachers meet qualification requirements and training mandates prescribed by CBSE.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
Student Development & Discipline
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and disciplined school environment.
- Monitor student attendance, behavior, and overall well-being.
- Implement programs that support holistic student development.
- Ensure adherence to child safety guidelines, POCSO regulations, and student welfare policies.
- Address student concerns and disciplinary matters effectively.
Parent & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with parents and guardians.
- Conduct regular parent meetings and address concerns proactively.
- Collaborate with management, academic teams, and external stakeholders.
- Represent the school at community, educational, and regulatory forums.
- Enhance stakeholder satisfaction through effective communication and engagement.
Admissions & School Growth
- Support student admissions and retention initiatives.
- Work towards achieving enrollment and retention targets.
- Promote the school's academic achievements and institutional reputation.
- Drive initiatives that contribute to sustainable school growth and development.
CBSE Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure strict compliance with CBSE Affiliation Bye-Laws, Examination Bye-Laws, and all CBSE circulars.
- Stay updated with CBSE regulations, National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, and educational reforms.
- Act as the Member Secretary of the School Management Committee (SMC) and ensure effective governance.
- Ensure timely submission of CBSE records, examination data, and statutory reports.
- Maintain mandatory school disclosures, documentation, and records as required by CBSE.
- Coordinate CBSE inspections, audits, affiliation, and examination processes.
- Ensure compliance with infrastructure, safety, health, and security standards prescribed by CBSE and local authorities.
- Monitor implementation of inclusive education, student wellness, and teacher development programs.
- Lead internal quality audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
- B.Ed. (Mandatory).
- Additional qualifications in Educational Leadership, School Administration, or Management will be preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 10–15 years of experience in the education sector.
- At least 5 years of experience as Principal role in a CBSE school.
- Proven experience in academic administration, faculty management, and school operations.
- Experience in managing CBSE affiliation, inspections, and compliance processes is highly desirable.
Knowledge & CompetenciesMandatory Knowledge
- Thorough knowledge of CBSE Affiliation Bye-Laws and Examination Bye-Laws.
- Strong understanding of NEP 2020 and its implementation framework.
- Knowledge of CBSE curriculum planning, assessments, board examination procedures, and competency-based education.
- Understanding of school governance, statutory compliance, and educational quality standards.
