- Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance: Execute scheduled maintenance tasks (lubrication, part replacement) and respond rapidly to equipment failures to restore production.
- Process Equipment: Reactors, Heat Exchangers, Centrifuges, Dryers, and Glass-lined vessels.
- Mechanical Components: Pumps (Centrifugal, Vacuum), Gearboxes, Agitators, and Mechanical Seals.
- Utilities: Boilers, Cooling Towers, Air Compressors, Chillers, and Nitrogen Plants.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose mechanical faults using diagnostic tools and technical manuals.
- Fabrication & Fitting: Use welding equipment, power saws, and hand tools to construct or repair structural components and pipelines.
- Precision Work: Align equipment using tools like Vernier calipers, micrometers, dial gauges, and filler gauges.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records in plant logbooks, including spare parts inventory and equipment history.
- Education: ITI in Fitter trade or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: Typically, 2 to 5 years for junior roles, while 8 to 10 years is required for "Senior Fitter" positions.
