We are seeking a skilled and dedicated OT Scrub Nurse with specific expertise in Urology and Nephrology surgical procedures. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a sterile electronic field, anticipating the surgeon's needs, and ensuring patient safety throughout the perioperative phase. You will work closely with our specialized surgical teams to deliver high-quality care during complex urological and nephrological interventions.
Key Responsibilities
Surgical Scrubbing & Assisting: Prepare and scrub for major and minor urology/nephrology surgeries, including but not limited to Kidney Transplants, PCNL, URSL, TURP, Nephrectomies, and AV Fistula creations.
Sterile Field Management: Set up and maintain the sterile field, ensuring all specialized instruments, sutures, and medical devices are sterile, functioning, and arranged correctly.
Surgeon Support: Anticipate the needs of the operating surgeon, passing instruments quickly and accurately to ensure optimal flow during procedures.
Counts & Verification: Perform meticulous pre-, intra-, and post-operative counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments according to standard hospital protocols to prevent retained objects.
Patient Safety & Care: Assist in safely positioning, prepping, and draping patients on the operating table, strictly adhering to infection control guidelines.
Equipment Handling: Operate and maintain specialized OT equipment such as endoscopes, lithotripsy units, and cautery machines, reporting any malfunctions immediately.
Documentation: Maintain accurate surgical checklists and perioperative nursing documentation.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) or B.Sc. in Nursing from a recognized institution.
Registration:Odisha registration.
Experience: 2 to 5 years of core experience working as a scrub nurse in an Operation Theatre, with a strong, proven background in Urology and Nephrology surgeries.
Technical Skills: Deep familiarity with specialized urology/nephrology instruments and advanced endo-urological equipment.
Core Competencies: Excellent focus, quick reflexes, ability to work under high pressure, strong teamwork, and a strict adherence to sterile techniques.
