Job Description – Safety Engineer (EPC – Ground Mounted Solar Projects)
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Engineer to oversee Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) activities at our ground-mounted solar EPC project sites. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with statutory safety regulations, client HSE requirements, and company safety policies while promoting a zero-harm safety culture throughout project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor the company's Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Management System at project sites.
- Ensure compliance with applicable statutory regulations, client HSE requirements, and company safety policies.
- Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.
- Carry out Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA/JSA) before commencement of critical activities.
- Conduct daily Toolbox Talks (TBT), safety inductions, and awareness training for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Ensure mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all work locations.
- Substation and switchyard activities
- Testing & Commissioning
- Issue, monitor, and close Permit to Work (PTW) for high-risk activities, including:
- Electrical Isolation (LOTO)
- Excavation Work
- Lifting Operations
- Confined Space Entry (where applicable)
- Ensure safe operation of cranes, hydras, forklifts, boom lifts, and other lifting equipment.
- Verify the validity of operator licenses, lifting tools, tackles, and equipment inspection certificates.
- Conduct regular inspections of scaffolding, ladders, fall protection systems, and lifting accessories.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, identify root causes, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness, mock drills, and first-aid arrangements at project sites.
- Coordinate with client representatives during HSE inspections and audits.
- Support internal and external safety audits and ensure timely closure of observations.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly HSE reports for management and clients.
- Promote a proactive safety culture through continuous engagement and behavioural safety initiatives.
Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or related Engineering.
- Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety from a recognized institute is mandatory.
Experience
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience as a Safety Engineer.
- At least 1* years of experience in Ground Mounted Solar Projects*.
- Experience in utility-scale solar projects, substations, transmission lines, or renewable energy projects will be preferred.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
