Role Summary
The Assistant Manager / Deputy manager – Business Development will be responsible for expanding RLG's takeback, Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), and reverse logistics business by developing both the supply and demand sides of the recyclable materials ecosystem. The role involves acquiring organizations generating recyclable waste (Producers) as well as producers, brand owners, importers, and other obligated entities requiring EPR compliance solutions. The incumbent will build a strong network of recyclers, aggregators, and vendors to facilitate profitable transactions, negotiate commercial agreements, manage stakeholder relationships, and drive revenue growth through strategic sourcing, recycling, and sustainability solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute business development strategies to grow RLG's takeback, EPR, and recyclable materials business across assigned territories.
- Identify, approach, and onboard producers, manufacturers, retailers, corporates, and other organizations generating recyclable waste or scrap for collection and sale.
- Identify and acquire producers, brand owners, importers, and other obligated entities requiring EPR compliance, takeback, and recycling solutions.
- Promote RLG's EPR, takeback, reverse logistics, and recycling services to prospective clients and generate new business opportunities.
- Build and manage a robust network of authorized recyclers, aggregators, processors, and vendors interested in purchasing recyclable materials.
- Act as the commercial bridge between waste generators and recyclers by matching supply with demand and ensuring successful transaction execution.
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, contracts, and service agreements with both sellers and buyers to maximize profitability and margins.
- Manage the complete business development lifecycle, including lead generation, client acquisition, vendor onboarding, commercial negotiations, account management, and client retention.
- Collaborate with operations, logistics, compliance, and finance teams to deliver integrated solutions, ensuring timely collections, material movement, invoicing, payment reconciliation, and successful EPR compliance execution.
- Monitor market trends, commodity pricing, recycling demand, EPR regulations, and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities.
- Develop long-term strategic relationships with key clients, recyclers, industry associations, producer organizations, and ecosystem partners.
- Prepare business forecasts, revenue pipelines, sales reports, and performance dashboards for management review.
- Ensure all business transactions comply with applicable environmental regulations, EPR requirements, and company policies.
- Represent RLG at industry events, trade forums, and client meetings to strengthen market presence and generate new business opportunities.

8–12 years of experience in Business Development, Sales, Key Account Management, or Commercial Operations.
- Experience in one or more of the following industries: Reverse Logistics, Waste Management, Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), Recycling & Circular Economy, Environmental Services, Proven experience in B2B sales, commercial negotiations, and stakeholder management.
- Experience in selling EPR compliance, recycling, reverse logistics, waste management, or sustainability solutions to producers, manufacturers, importers, FMCG, electronics, batteries, plastics, or other regulated industries is preferred.
- Strong understanding of EPR regulations, recyclable materials, scrap markets, reverse logistics, or industrial waste management is preferred.
