A Trainee Paginator assists in formatting and arranging text, images, and other content for publications such as books, magazines, or newspapers, working under the guidance of senior designers. The role focuses on learning industry-standard software and ensuring that all materials meet quality and design standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior staff in creating and formatting layouts for various publications using software like Adobe InDesign or Illustrator.
- Format and typeset manuscripts, ensuring consistency with established design guidelines and templates.
- Make design adjustments based on feedback from clients and the design team.
- Perform basic quality control (QC) checks on paginated materials to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to design standards before final publication.
- Collaborate with editorial, design, and production teams to meet project deadlines and requirements.
- Prepare files for print production, ensuring they meet the necessary technical specifications.
- Learn and apply principles of design, typography, and layout under supervision.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Education: Candidate with any UG degree.
- Software Proficiency: Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite applications, particularly Adobe InDesign, is essential. Experience with other relevant tools (e.g., Word, MathType for scientific publishing) may also be valued.
- Attention to Detail: A strong eye for detail is crucial to ensure accuracy and visual appeal in layouts.
- Communication: Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are necessary.
- Work Ethic: Eagerness to learn, a proactive attitude, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment are important.

- Candidates with computer operating skills along with microsoft office knowledge are desirable.
- Candidates from Madurai only are expected and should be willing to work in shifts.
