Responsibilities:
- A CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Operator/Machinist sets up, operates, and maintains computer-controlled machines (mills, lathes, drills) to fabricate precision parts from metal or plastic.
- * Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area
- * Meet production targets within budget and timeline
- * Set up, program, and operate CNC turning machine
- * Inspect finished products for quality
- Machine Setup: Configure CNC machines, including loading tools, attachments, and raw materials, and calibrating equipment.
- Programming & Operation: Load, run, and edit pre-written G-code or CAD/CAM programs to cut, drill, and shape components.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and other tools to verify they meet strict blueprint specifications.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform daily cleaning, lubrication, and preventive maintenance on machinery, and troubleshoot errors in machine operation or programming.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining a clean, orderly workspace.
Requirements & Skills
- Experience: 2-5 years of experience in a machine shop environment is typical.
- Technical Knowledge: Ability to read and interpret complex mechanical blueprints and technical drawings.
- Software Proficiency: Experience with CNC programming, CAM software, and basic computer knowledge.
- Precision Tools: Proficiency with measurement instruments like calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
