- Safety & Interaction Checks: Reviewing patient medical histories to prevent dangerous adverse reactions or interactions with other drugs.
- Clinical Monitoring: Collaborating with doctors to optimize drug therapies and suggesting appropriate over-the-counter (OTC) alternatives.
- Inventory Management: Overseeing the stocking, proper storage, and ordering of medications and medical supplies.
- Community/Retail Pharmacies: Frontline pharmacies (like neighborhood stores ) where the focus is on dispensing prescriptions and advising walk-in customers.
