Role description
Role Summary
The Reinsurance Domain Consultant will bring deep, hands-on domain expertise across reinsurance and actuarial systems, supporting large-scale application development, maintenance, support, and modernization initiatives. This role requires extensive experience in actuarial technology within the reinsurance space and a strong track record of delivering outcomes through Managed Capacity and Managed Outcome models for complex, enterprise modernization programs.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a senior Reinsurance domain subject matter expert, advising clients and internal teams on business, actuarial, and technology alignment.
Provide strategic and hands-on support for application development, maintenance, and support of reinsurance and actuarial systems covering treaty, facultative, and retrocession processes.
Lead and contribute to modernization initiatives in the actuarial and reinsurance space, including legacy platform transformation, cloud migration, automation, and system integration.
Enable and govern delivery under Managed Capacity and Managed Outcome engagement models, ensuring accountability for delivery quality, SLAs, and measurable business outcomes.
Translate complex reinsurance and actuarial business requirements into clear functional and solution-level guidance for technology teams.
Provide oversight and guidance for production support, enhancements, upgrades, and issue resolution across actuarial and reinsurance applications.
Ensure adherence to regulatory, audit, and financial reporting requirements applicable to global reinsurance operations.
Collaborate with senior client stakeholders, global delivery teams, and leadership to drive operational efficiency, risk reduction, and business value.
Key Required Skills
Deep Reinsurance Domain Expertise (20+ years)
Extensive knowledge of reinsurance products, contracts, accounting, financials, and end-to-end reinsurance workflows.
Subject Matter Expertise in Actuarial Technology
Strong command of actuarial systems, models, data flows, and platforms supporting reinsurance and insurance operations.
Application Development, Maintenance, and Support
Proven experience overseeing the full application lifecycle for actuarial and reinsurance systems, including development, enhancements, maintenance, and L2/L3 support.
Actuarial & Reinsurance Platform Modernization
Demonstrated experience modernizing large, complex legacy actuarial and reinsurance platforms through re-architecture, cloud enablement, automation, and integration.
Managed Capacity & Managed Outcome Delivery Models
Significant experience operating within managed capacity and managed outcome models, with responsibility for delivery governance, outcomes, and stakeholder satisfaction.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
Exposure to leading actuarial and reinsurance platforms (e.g., Prophet, AXIS, ALFA or similar).
Experience working with global reinsurers and multi-region insurance programs.
Familiarity with data modernization, analytics, and automation in actuarial/reinsurance contexts.
Strong executive-level communication, advisory, and stakeholder management skills.
